About me

I’m a computer scientist with an interest in all things related to algorithms, computation, and information. I’m currently a researcher at D-Wave Systems where I develop algorithms to leverage the power of D-Wave’s adiabatic quantum computers.

I received my PhD in Computer Science from McGill University. My supervisor was Luc Devroye and my research was on geometric optimization algorithms and randomized data structures. I followed this with a two year postdoc at Oxford’s Department of Physics with Nick Jones, focusing on energy landscapes of optimization problems. Returning to my home town of Vancouver, I worked for a year as a data scientist at Pulse Energy, then joined the algorithms group at D-Wave Systems.

I live in Victoria, BC with my wife and two young children.
